Vehicle

EVB was created to focus on the manufacturing and development of large scale, format batteries primarily for electric vehicles, hence the name of EVB (Electric Vehicle Battery). For over 17+ years, EVB with its partners have powered vehicles with batteries either as the primary or complementary power source. As the market has evolved, so too has EVB. Adapting cell capacity and venturing into different chemistries to uncover the best option in terms of price performance.

Hybrid Solutions

EVB with its partners has been involved over the years with multiple hybrid solutions from series to parallel hybrid systems to commercial to consumer applications. These solutions have comprised of both chemistries (NiMH and LiFePO4) and various configurations.

Plug-in Hybrid

Working with our partner, Plug-In Conversions, EVB developed a convenient battery pack utilizing the compact size of the 30EVH (30Ah NiMH) cell for increasing the battery pack of the Toyota Prius to allow for plug-in charging possibility.

Commercial Hybrid

With the increasing desire to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, especially in historically significant locations, EVB and its partners have created solutions from hybrid buses for airport shuttle buses and off tandem trolley buses. The application dictates the capacity and chemistry to be used. Therefore EVB encourages the use of its Purchase Application Guide.

Pure Electric Solutions

EVB’s experience with pure electric vehicles began from its creation in 1993 with a project with Solectria and Ovonic to create an electric vehicle for the numerous enthusiasts’ events. The successful pairing of Ovonic’s chemical mix with the GP Battery Group’s manufacturing expertise produced a convincing solution. The license level increase served to create a separate entity, EVB, to maximize the usage to serve this market. 17+ years later, EVB is not only producing for electric vehicles, but is an owner itself of an electric vehicle company, Vectrix.

2 & 3 Wheeled Electric Vehicles

Even before its purchase of Vectrix, EVB worked closely with partners to develop electric solutions for 2 and 3 wheeled scooters and motorcycles with varying capacities and chemistries. Through Vectrix, EVB has gained both insight into the difficulties of an electric vehicle company and better understanding of the optimal solution per an application.

4 Wheeled Electric Vehicles

EVB’s existence started with 4 wheeled electric vehicles and continues with support of this market. Again with its partners, EVB provides solutions to prototype electric supercars to full electric conversions to neighbor electric vehicles (NEVs) to fully designed production electric vehicles. All solutions have utilized the flexibility of EVB’s manufacturing to test designs and run full production runs at one location with one supplier.
