EVB Technology (HK) Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of GP Batteries International Limited, specializes in the manufacturing of Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries for electric mobility, heavy duty industrial, and energy storage applications.

The company commenced its operation as a testing ground for the group’s technological and manufacturing ability to build large format cells through its Ovonic manufacturing license. Over the last 18 years, EVB developed its expertise in manufacturing and design of large format prismatic cells through series of projects both successful and not. With each step, the company worked closely with its partners to gain insights into what was demanded by the market and the expectations of the end user.

Innovation in motion

In 2009, EVB’s involvement in the electric vehicle market evolved beyond supplier with the acquisition of Vectrix; manufacturer of premium electric maxi scooters, from bankruptcy. The acquisition highlighted to EVB the tribulations faced by electric vehicle companies and the crucial role the battery and battery company plays in the survival of the electric vehicle.

Today EVB stands ready to engage its customers at the design stage with all forms of information and support from its dedicated teams to reduce the time and resources associated with development to move from design to prototype to production. EVB is well positioned to supply, jointly develop, and deliver battery solutions.
